Retro Revival Week – Day Four

I’m not doing a review today (and I didn’t yesterday) because my whole RRW plan is screwed to Hell, and I’ve just been playing every retro game I have rather than one at a time.

The main reason behind me abandoning my original plans is because I’ve joined a union (a group of gamers who talk about or interact with a certain subject) at GameSpot called the Enlightened Gamers Union. EG is all about the history of games, gaming politics, and making the playing of retro games even more fun, as members constantly vie to beat each others high scores. It’s been a ton of fun so far, as me and the leader of the union, Douglas Buffone, have been having a “high score war” and are at ends trying to beat each others high scores.

I’ve never been very good at platformers before, but with all this constant retro gaming and battling between me and Doug, I can clear both World 1’s of Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3 without losing a life!

I’m still terrible at Mega Man 2 though…

Anyhow, that’s about it really. I’ll most likely be writing a review for one of the games I had planned on my RRW list, so stay tuned for that tomorrow!

  1. I liked Super Mario 3 due to the fact you could fly and such. Go Tail thingy.
