The Giant Bomb is Launching!…

…next week.

Me and Buffone had both thought it was going to be launched this week, but against his own words, Gerstmann’s decided to launch it after E3 rather than before it.

Oh well, I can wait another week I guess. It makes me wonder though – is Jeff launching the beta next week or the full site? My money’s on the beta, but we’ll all see next week.

In other gaming related news, Jack Thompson has been hit with the possibility of being permanently disbarred from practicing law in the state of Florida and may have to pay a $43,675 fine.

Ouch.

The future for good ol’ Jack Thompson doesn’t look too good, but the final verdict has yet to be finalized.

In other, more recent gaming news, Activision and Vivendi Games have finally been merged into Activision Blizzard. In a merger deal worth $18.9 billion dollars, Activision announced that stockholders had agreed to the merger on July 8 and that the deal closed on July 9.

That’s about all the morning news for today. Check back later tonight for the nightly update, unless I finally review one of those games I’ve been planning to do. Retro Revival Week ends tomorrow!
